Scorpion was a name given to me long ago by a dear friend. I'm very proud of it and try to ascribe it its due honor. My experiences and journey through life has brought me to the point to author these novels.
I wanted to tell the tale of heroes, my first true love. But, I wanted to tell a different story than so many that have come before this. I've always liked a degree of reality in my fiction. So, I make every effort to keep much of what I can accurate; such as setting locations, directions from place to place, building descriptions, and to some extent even history (although I may tend to twist it just slightly). I hope all who read my work enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it.

Kevin L. Smith was born in 1956 in Tucson, Arizona. After living there, Gallup, New Mexico, and even Tombstone, Arizona over a span of twenty years, he finally moved to Southern California where he and his family have resided ever since. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Additionally, he is a licensed United States Coast Guard ships captain and a certified Dive Master.
Throughout his entire life Kevin has enjoyed all facets of science fiction and fantasy work, and is pleased to finally have a hand in personally contributing to this genre. In Destiny’s Wildest Dream he crafts a three part story designed to set the stage for a much bigger story; The World of Chthon.
